Стоит версия 1.3.10. Обновлять имеет смысл на 2? Есть какие-то существенные отличия?

Отличия существенные, ибо много новых плюшек, по сравнению с 1.
Ставить тестовый сайт и смотреть - надо оно вам или нет. Кто-то разве, за вас это может решить ?

Логично, именно это и хочу сделать. Но из-за дурацкой надписи "Скрытый контент. Для просмотра информации необходимо ... сообщений" приходится флудить и спрашивать очевидные вещи

Вы, либо невнимательны, либо набираете посты спамом. Там хайд в двух вариантах. (Divi Builder) Один из них вам доступен.
